Addressing the Challenges and Fulfilling the Goals Set Forth by the Alabama OIT
Meet The Client: Alabama OIT
The Alabama State Office of Information Technology (OIT) plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the technology infrastructure and services within the state government of Alabama. Its primary objective is to support and enhance the delivery of government services through the effective use of technology.
The Client’s Goals and Challenges
The Alabama OIT had identified several key goals and challenges, which were as follows:
- Improve IT resource utilization to increase overall efficiency
- the cost of IT operations across the state government
- Provide effective IT training resources to enhance the skills of OIT staff
Our Solution
To address the challenges and fulfill the goals set forth by the Alabama OIT, we provided a comprehensive library of eLearning and live virtual class resources. The implementation followed a blanket purchase order model, sponsored by the Alabama OIT, accessible to all state agencies. The program offered two training catalogs: one tailored for information technology staff and the other, a more cost-effective option, aimed at general government office professionals.
Customers were given the flexibility to choose between leveraging the OIT eLearning portal or establishing their own branded portal instance for learning management and reporting purposes.
The solution expedited the procurement process for customers and facilitated the participation of state agencies in the program, enabling them to access cost-effective eLearning resources, including:
- Over 6,500 self-paced courses and live virtual classes
- eBooks and audio books
- Certification preparation exams
- Study guides
The learning materials covered a wide range of essential topics, such as:
- Business and professional development
- End-user software and workforce productivity
- Cybersecurity
- Software development/programming
- IT Infrastructure

Working closely with Alabama OIT, we have achieved the following results over a two-year period:
- 36% cost savings
- 4,508 content launches
- 2,950 training sessions completed
