One of the most important ways that members of a community – be it a social or work environment – can reinforce the standards of conduct expected of other members is by calling out those who violate the norms of the community. You don&;t have to be a hero – there are many ways you can defuse the situation just long enough to interrupt what&;s going on and help the person being targeted get out of the situation.
