Transportation Engineering: Traffic Flow Theory

placeholder

By the end of this course you will be able to: Define the parameters used to characterize traffic streams in the design of safe transportation facilities. Describe traffic stream models and how they are used to analyze traffic flows for the benefit of the public. Using principles of probability describe traffic flow patterns in the design of safe and efficient transportation facilities. Recognize the statistical tests used to analyze traffic flow data. Describe how the scientific analysis of queues is used to predict and characterize traffic flows and other traffic operations scenarios for the safety and welfare of transportation users.
