Jakarta Servlets: The Servlet Lifecycle and HTTP Methods

The Servlet interface lies at the root of the Servlet class hierarchy, and is ancestor to the GenericServlet and HTTPServlet abstract classes. Most servlets extend HTTPServlet, and adhere to a standard convention Ethey override the implementations of request handler methods doGet, doPost and so on, for each type of HTTP request. In this course, you will start by fully implementing the servlet lifecycle via the init, service, and destroy methods Ealong the way being careful to synchronize access to the servlet context. You will also configure your servlet to load on startup. Next, set up and use jq, curl, and the Jackson library for working with JSON requests and override the implementation of the doGet method from the HttpServlet abstract base class. Finally, you will complete the implementation of your servlet class by also implementing the doPost, doPut, doDelete and other request handler methods.
