Kubernetes Application Developer: Stateful Applications and Data Persistence
Running stateful workloads in Kubernetes requires careful handling of data persistence, storage management, and workload stability. This course provides a practical foundation for deploying and maintaining databases, message queues, and other stateful services using Kubernetes-native tools. Learners will understand how Kubernetes manages persistent data, stable network identities, and fault-tolerant updates, ensuring reliability in production environments. In this course, you will explore StatefulSets, volumeClaimTemplates, and dynamic provisioning to ensure data persistence and predictable pod behavior. Next, you will configure Jobs and CronJobs to automate recurring tasks such as backups and batch operations. Finally, you will implement Pod Disruption Budgets to maintain application availability during updates or maintenance, gaining hands-on experience that aligns with the State Persistence domain of the CKAD exam. This course is part of a series designed to prepare learners for the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) exam.
