Coastal Engineering: Tsunamis

At the end of this course you will be able to: List building and siting techniques that can reduce damage from tsunamis. Identify important issues in the design and placement of tsunami evacuation structures. Recognize the magnitude of flood loads that can be generated from tsunamis and the resources available for more in-depth study.  State how tsunamis are formed and the importance of sound building and early warning system strategies.
