Pier and Beam Foundation Design

At the end of this course you will be able to: Apply the flood load provisions in ASCE 7-10 and ASCE 24 to properly design pier and beam foundations that are safe for its occupants List the provisions updates and proposed changes to ASCE 7-10 and ASCE 24 that will affect the safety of the public Identify the minimum design and construction standards for pier and beam foundation design that will provide the most safety to the public. Recognize the limitations for prescriptive solutions in foundation design to assist in identifying issues that require thorough analysis State the current design methodologies for pier and beam foundation issues used for both riverine buildings.
