Bullying and Hazing on Campus
Institutions of higher learning are generally perceived as communities that promote mutual respect and concern for one another. Most students and their parents expect their chosen campus to be safe secure and protected. But the fact is that bullying hazing and other forms of interpersonal violence exist on campuses across the country. In response to this issue many schools have instituted policies and programs to deal with the moral legal and emotional aspects of campus violence. Its important for faculty staff and students to understand the implications of bullying and hazing and know how to access the support resources available to them on campus. In this course learners will become familiar with the characteristics of bullying and hazing the appropriate paths of response to incidents of power-based interpersonal violence and best practices for preventing recognizing and responding to incidents of bullying and hazing on campus.
