Site Utility Design: Commercial Buildings

After completing this course you will: List the project information required when designing a reliable utility systems management program to promote a safe controlled and comfortable environment for building occupants. Outline the factors that need to be checked with the AHJ concerning storm drainage systems to protect maintain and enhance the public health safety and general welfare.  Identify possible safe methods through which storm water can be discharged to avoid significant threats to public health and the environment.  Describe how the natural gas delivery system works to maximize efficiency and safety.  State the health and safety design factors that should be requested from the utility concerning the natural gas characteristics. Sequence the preventative and mitigative steps in testing natural gas lines after installation and prior to final completion to improve safety.  Indicate the important things to check with utilities concerning their health safety and welfare requirements for a natural gas system to be installed in a community.
